Massachusetts student injured in bicycle accident

Bicycle accidents are more common during the summer months than now, but unfortunately they still happen even around this time of the year. This could be especially true since many drivers are less likely to be watching for riders during the winter season. A recent bicycle accident in Massachusetts has injured a female.

The accident occurred Sunday evening and involved a college student. The 20-year-old female was hit by a pickup truck while she was in a crosswalk. Specific details regarding injuries were not immediately available. Her injuries were, however, believed to be non-life-threatening at the time of the incident and she was listed as stable.

Unfortunately, this is not the first such incident in the past weeks. There have been two other accidents in the same area involving college students. Authorities are continuing to investigate this most recent accident, although it was not yet clear whether any traffic citations or criminal charges would be forthcoming.

This young woman may want to determine if a civil suit against the driver is warranted. Medical bills and other accident-related expenses could quickly add up, which could be especially troubling for a college student. A bicycle accident can cause undue stress on any victim. Not only is the victim facing the possibility of physical challenges that could result from the injuries, but he or she could also face the financial challenges that could result from the costs associated with hospital bills and long-term care expenses. Massachusetts residents who find themselves in this situation may wish to file a civil suit in hopes of receiving monetary compensation to help relieve some of the financial strain.
