Massachusetts bicycle accident claims the life of a father

Unfortunately, a bicycle accident can cause devastating injuries. Recently, a family spoke out about their experience of losing a loved one as the result of a bicycle accident. Massachusetts residents may be following this story as it is making headlines and impacting many lives.

The accident occurred on the morning of New Year 's Day. The man was riding his bicycle to the home of his girlfriend. It has been estimated the individual that hit the man was traveling at least 70 mph when he hit the bicyclist. Thankfully for the victim's family, a nearby neighbor had recently installed security cameras on their home and had footage of the accident. This helped authorities determine the individual believed to be responsible for the accident.

Police officials were able to arrest the man two days after the bicycle accident. There was also a warrant out for his arrest for violation of probation. The man has pleaded not guilty, but is due back in court soon. The victim's mother has spoken out about how this has impacted her life. The camera was able to capture individuals coming to the young man's side and staying with him, which his mother said provided her some comfort; however, she also mentioned her grief at his loss.

This family is now facing a lifetime without their son because of a bicycle accident caused by the apparent carelessness of another man. The victim also leaves behind a one-year-old son and a girlfriend. His surviving relatives may wish to take civil action against the accused man in order to seek monetary compensation. They are not only facing burial expenses, but his son is now left without his father and without the potential income he could have provided. Understanding applicable Massachusetts laws may help this family receive the monetary compensation to which they could be entitled.
