Massachusetts motorcycle accident leaves 2 injured, woman cited

With warmer weather comes the higher possibility of a motorcycle accident. Riders often are at a greater risk because of drivers that don't pay attention to them on the road. A recent Massachusetts motorcycle accident in which a young woman allegedly wasn't paying attention seriously injured two riders.

The accident happened when the woman, who was driving an SUV, failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle. Both riders, which were a husband and wife, were thrown from the machine upon impact. They both received what were described as serious injuries. Several passersby stopped to help with medical aid. The wife was flown to a hospital while her husband was transported via ambulance.

The young woman, who is 17 years old, has since been cited with failure to yield. Even though police have issued the driver a citation, a civil suit may be found to be appropriate given the extent of the injuries. The couple may wish to file to help cover medical expenses as well as any lost wages that have incurred as a direct result of this accident.

Any Massachusetts rider that has been the victim of a motorcycle accident could receive a positive outcome with a proactive approach. Having an understanding of the state laws and knowing the best way to proceed with any action necessary can prove beneficial when looking to recover losses or receive monetary compensation. When a victim receives a monetary award, it often allows them to focus on complete recovery rather than stress over finances or not receive the care needed because of financial strain.
