Massachusetts motorcycle accidents can cause serious injury

More people will be riding their motorcycles as temperatures get warmer. While for most people riding a motorcycle can be relaxing and enjoyable, motorcycle accidents do happen. A recent Massachusetts accident has injured both a husband and wife, both of whom are 45-years-old.

While not many details of the accident have been released yet, it was reported the woman appears to be in more serious condition than her husband. The accident occurred when a 19-year-old female pulled out directly in the motorcycle's path causing the two vehicles to collide. The young driver was issued a citation for not using care while turning. Massachusetts does require the use of helmets when operating a motorcycle, and it is not known whether either rider was wearing one at the time of the accident.

While a citation was issued, the victims could pursue a civil suit for any medical bills, expenses, or pain and suffering endured as a result of the accident. An accident such as this that results in injuries can cause numerous expenses from medical bills to lost wages from work. This can be a burden on not only the victim's, but on their families as well should the victims require long term care.

As in this case, motorcycle accidents can be caused by the negligence of other drivers on the road. Any Massachusetts rider that has been involved in an accident in which they were not at fault might want to look into their rights under the law. With the right knowledge and guidance, expenses can potentially be recovered which can make the financial suffering easier to manage.
