Massachusetts man killed in motorcycle accident with pickup

An accident in Massachusetts during mid-October left one motorcyclist dead and the driver of a Ford pickup truck injured. The details are still vague concerning the motorcycle accident, but the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision. It is unclear who was at fault at this time. Authorities say this was the first time in two years that a fatal accident has occurred along the stretch of road where the collision happened.

The man riding the Harley-Davidson motorcycle died from injuries sustained in the wreck at a nearby hospital. He was transported from Middleton, where the collision happened, to Lawrence General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was also treated at Lawrence General and later released.

As the North Andover Police Department works to find any factors that may have contributed to this accident, they have made few statements about the collision. As the investigation continues there may be criminal charges filed if the investigation determines that the driver of the Ford truck was at fault.

In cases where an investigation proves the negligence of one driver, circumstances open up the opportunity for the injured party to file a civil suit seeking compensation for damages. In the case of a deceased victim, the family may decide to file a wrongful death claim for restitution of suffering the loss of a loved one. At that point, all involved parties could benefit from having a Massachusetts attorney evaluate the results of the investigation to assist in any litigation matters stemming from such a fatal motorcycle accident.
