Massachusetts postal truck involved in bicycle accident

For a second day in a row on the South Shore of Massachusetts, a child has been struck while riding a bicycle. At 11:30 a.m. on a recent Monday, a 4-year-old girl was hit by a postal delivery truck, sending her to a nearby hospital. Paramedics report that her condition is non-incapacitating, likely due to her use of a helmet during the bicycle accident.

Further investigation will determine the cause of the accident and if the postal carrier was at fault. Fortunately, the child was not seriously injured. Police reports show that no charges have been filed.

This came just one day after another nearby bicycle accident injured a girl on a bike. She and an adult male were struck by a truck on a busy neighborhood road. The man consequently died from his injuries.

The exact details concerning the bicycle accident involving the Massachusetts postal truck remain under investigation. Fortunately, no one was fatally injured in that accident.

There may be medical bills and related expenses for the injured girls in both accidents as well as funeral expenses for the deceased adult male in the first accident. Both of these recent incidents may result in personal injury and wrongful death claims against the drivers.

Nothing can take away the physical and emotional scars that result from a bicycle accident. In addition, no amount of money can make up for the tragic loss of life. However, in addition to helping ease financial burdens, personal injury and wrongful death claims may provide victims and their family members with a sense of justice.
