Massachusetts man rushed to ER following motorcycle accident

Motorcyclists generally do not fair to well when pitted against another vehicle in an accident. As fun and exciting as motorcycles are to ride, the safety features are not quite as substantial as enclosed vehicles. However, safety features aside, several motorcycle accidents result from an offending driver's negligence on the road. A 45-year-old Massachusetts motorcyclist may be recent proof of this.

According to police, the two-vehicle crash left the motorcycle rider lying on the ground with serious injuries. The other driver, in a Mazda SUV, was uninjured at the scene. Paramedics and firefighters responded and secured the injured rider for an emergency trip to the hospital.

It is easy to forego the dangers involved when enjoying an afternoon ride in the open air. In this case the price may be permanent damage to the rider, financial loss due to time off from work, and months or years of physical therapy. A thorough investigation will likely be conducted to determine who is at fault and where the liability lies in this tragic accident.

If the rider is able to recover from his injuries, and it is determined that the driver of the SUV was at fault, compensation may be in order. If the evidence discloses that negligent acts by the SUV driver played a part in the cause of this motorcycle accident, the seriously-injured biker may elect to pursue action by way of recompense. Massachusetts law may provide the rider entitlement to monetary reimbursement for wages lost and a settlement to cover medical costs and other damages incurred.
